ERDC, the Newbridge-based construction contractor, has swung back into the black over its latest trading year.
The company, which was bought by its management in December 2006, booked a pre-tax profit of £414,048 for the year to October 31, 2007, reversing from a loss the year before of £231,087.

But according to accounts filed at Companies House, the group, whose operations cover civil engineering, building and synthetic sports surfaces, saw its turnover dip to £18.13 million, from £19m the year before.

Directors said it had been a "satisfactory" year for the group and said the slip in sales was down to "difficult market conditions for sport surfacing in England".

However, the company, which reduced its workforce over the year to 135, from 185 in 2006, was optimistic about the future.
