EDINBURGH'S WBO Superfeatherweight champion Alex Arthur is to hold talks with Patricio Apey, the agent of Scottish tennis star Andy Murray.
The boxer is keen to maximise his earnings from outside the ring, especially with a role in a film coming up next month. The 29-year-old fighter has landed a part in the action adventure Valhalla Rising along with Mads Mikkelsen who played James Bo
nd's adversary in Casino Royale.
"I've known my pal Andy Murray's agent Patricio Apey for a while – I was Patricio's guest two years ago at Wimbledon.
"Now that I'm a world champion I aim to follow in the footsteps of other world boxing champions who have employed agents to maximise their outside-the-ring earnings.
"I will have my first title defence in September, but I am a realist. World champions tend to have a very short time in which to make serious money over and above their ring earnings.
"Look what Patricio Apey has done for Andy. I'm hoping that I can get him to represent me or recommend another agent to help maximise my non-boxing income. I've never hidden my ambition to follow guys like Jim Watt and become a boxing media pundit which I'd do in tandem with film and TV acting once my ring career is over."
