A FUNDRAISING night for a teenagers' cancer unit in the city has raised close to £50,000.
Capital author Alexander McCall Smith entertained the audience with an after-dinner speech at the event for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal College of Physicians.

He is pictured with a painting of Jolomo's Benbecula shoreline donated for the silent auction.

About 130 guests attended the event, which was hosted by Katy Lamb, a mother who lost her 19-year-old son Gordon to cancer. His close friend Angus hosted the silent auction.
