ALAIN BAXTER’S nightmare start to the new World Cup skiing season continued yesterday .
The 30-year-old Aviemore-based racer failed to qualify for the first run at Flachau, Austria.

However, the Edinburgh-born skier, Britain’s No.1 at slalom, was just one of a number of racers who failed including American idol Bode Miller, who missed a gate.

Alain’s 21-year-old brother Noel also failed to make the first run of the Austrian event won by Italian ace Giorgio Rocca.
