Is there a similar scheme for benefit cheats?

I am sure most that have been caught will be let off with nothing more than a "slap on the wrist". It doesn't mean anything to say you have caught so many vandals when they are never prosecuted.

Also, what about the anonymous acts of violence that are going on all the time in this city (e.g. graffiti), which we usually wake up to and find in the morning and thus were not able to use the text service (which seems to be more suited for vandalism in progress). Why can't we have consistent all night patrols? I am sure the police will start claiming the success of this texting service to simply stop going out on patrols altogether.

Erm, where did the other 386 prosecutions come from?

Post #5 I think they mean that the 246 added to the other 5 police Divisions in Lothian & Borders brings the figure to 632.
