Wales: Police have come under fire for turning a Taser stun gun on a runaway ram on a busy dual carriageway.
Drivers watched in horror as the rogue ram was stunned by a powerful charge from a Taser used by a north Wales policeman.

The RSPCA is investigating but has hit out at the force.

So, it's OK to 'taser' a human being, possibly with heart or other serious physical condition but not a rampant ram?

This Ram was causing a threat to life by being on the motorway. Personally I see no problem with shooting it with a gun in this situation. Some people need to get their priorities sorted out. That sounds terribly anti-animal, but seriously, if this ram had cause a 100 car pile-up and 30 people died because no action was taken, there would be a bigger issue to resolve.

As it is, the animal got a fright, fell over, and woke up in a field. End of story.

And what should they have done? Wait for it to get killed by a vehicle (possibly injuring people), or shoot it dead? Either way the sheep would die of the injuries - taser is non invasive, non lethal and sure as chips are chips it may in future learn that running onto the motorway is a bad idea!!!

"Drivers watched in horror as the rogue ram was stunned by a powerful charge from a Taser used by a north Wales policeman."

Did they now? In that case I would have liked to have seen the look on their faces when the damn thing ran out in front of them when they were travelling at motorway speeds.

The police did the right thing.

Would they rather it was hit by a vehicle and caused a major crash? Would they rather it was shot?

This is pathetic!

That's do gooders for you. Much better to let the ram and possibly innocent human beings be seriously injured or even killed rather than stun it!

The ram was stunned? Did it jump when tasered?

Cos that would make it a wooly jum....., ach forget it.
