MICROSOFT co-founder Paul Allen has donated £7.4 million to help fund the search for extraterrestrial life.
The Californian SETI Institute, which is dedicated to looking for life beyond Earth, said the donation from Allen, who founded Microsoft with Bill Gates, would be used to create more than 200 satellite dishes that will measure signals from space. SETI has already recruited almost 4.5 million volunteer PC owners to the hunt for extraterrestrials.
