THREE men have been jailed after a feud between Chinese cannabis growers brought terror to a quiet Edinburgh street.
Neighbours watched as a man was dragged from his home in Ellens Glen Road, Gilmerton, by a gang wielding baseball bats.
Victim Zhang Hou, 32, was bundled into a car, driven across the city and held prisoner in another house because the gang thought he had stolen part of a cannabis crop.
But after kicking and punching Mr Hou, trussing him up and threatening him with further violence the gang realised they had got the wrong man.
Mr Hou was released, given some cash and a taxi home.
Jailing three members of the gang at the High Court in Edinburgh today, judge Roger Craik QC told them: "This was a disgraceful and terrifying incident, not only for the immediate victim of the crime but also the local residents who were witnesses to the abduction."
Enoch Chan, 21, of 192 Grange Loan, Edinburgh, was jailed for two years. Matthew Rushfirth, 18, of 63 Fairfield Terrace, Leeds, was also locked up for two years.
Kasper Wong, 31, of 136 Stanningley Road, Leeds, was jailed for 16 months.
