GLASGOW Airport car bomb hero John Smeaton remains in intensive care today after being rushed to hospital with serious asthma.
The 32-year-old was taken from his home near Paisley, Renfrewshire, after suffering an asthma attack yesterday, sources said.
It comes as the two men accused of the attack went on trial.
The former baggage handler, made famous by his "This is Glasgow, you know – we'll set about you" remark following the attack, was in the town's Royal Alexandra Hospital last night in an intensive care unit where his condition was said to be serious but stable.
A spokeswoman for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "I can confirm that he is in the Royal Alexandra Hospital and that his condition is stable."
Sources said a similar asthma attack a decade ago almost killed him.
