AFTER almost two decades in broadcasting you would think Stephen Jardine would be past doing work experience.
But the STV presenter was welcomed to the Evening News yesterday to try his hand at something slightly different – press photography. He was filming for a new feature for his Five Thirty Show in which presenters have a go at jobs they might have done if they had not pursued a career in television.

He said: "I must admit it was a lot harder than it looks."

The rookie snapper could not have had a more challenging assignment to cut his teeth on – photographing Sir Sean Connery at the Edinburgh Book Festival.

Wee Keef,

This is basically an Evening News story about the Evening News - with some Sir Sean thrown in for good measure.

Slightly famous person gets a chance to do something unusual for a change. Hm, whatever will they think of next?

And what makes Sir Sean such a challenge to photograph? The man is a (self) publicity machine.

After all that, sorry Stephen, but the picture on page 20 is not that great either.

/Grumble grumble
