FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a squirrel from 40 feet up a city tenement block.
Residents in Duddingston Row called fire crews to the scene after the animal was still clinging to the wall 18 hours after it was first spotted on Friday.

However, the animal ran off when firefighters put a ladder up in an attempt to rescue it.
