LOTHIANBURN pair Mary Stark and Annie Brownie survived a stirring fightback from their opponents to win the Gibson Cup at the Braids.
They were three up with five to play against Murrayfield's Pam Townsend and Rosie Dennis before a 20-foot par putt at the last from the former took the final into extra holes. To the delight – and relief – of both Stark and Brownie, they prevailed at the first extra hole. Harburn's Margaret Ritchie and Janet Hardie and Hazel Carpenter and Elspeth Adair, both Lothianburn, were the losing semi-finalists.
