MARK McGHEE insisted today he will remain as Motherwell manager until the end of the season following weekend reports that Vladimir Romanov is keen to lure him to Hearts.
A Sunday newspaper suggested Romanov is an admirer of McGhee's relative success at Fir Park, where he is effecting a European challenge in his first season.

Having recently been overlooked for the Scotland vacancy, the former Leicester, Wolves an
d Brighton manager is determined to see the campaign through with Motherwell.

Hearts are currently searching for a new manager, preferably with British league experience, but McGhee stressed he will not be involved in any imminent appointment at Tynecastle.

"I'll be with Motherwell until after the Scottish Cup final, that's for sure," he said, hopeful of leading his club to the season's showpiece on May 24 after eliminating Hearts in the last round. "I've even booked my family holiday for the week after Hampden, just in case."

McGhee admitted he does not feel unsettled by constant speculation surrounding his future. He continued: "There was a time not so very long ago when I couldn't get my name linked with any job, so if I'm associated with every one that comes up now then my attitude is 'so be it'.

"Everyone should know the script where I'm concerned. I'm at Motherwell until the end of the season, no matter what. And I don't think all of the stories about me being wanted elsewhere have the slightest effect on the players at Fir Park. They know I'm staying here because I've been talking with some of them about renewing their contracts so that they stay with the club as well.

"It's not as if I actively put my name forward for this level of speculation. I didn't wake up one morning and decide I wanted to be considered for the Scotland job.

"What happened was Alex McLeish, the outgoing manager, put my name forward and Gordon Strachan, a good friend, supported my candidacy. Then the story grew its own momentum."

Meanwhile, Larry Kingston's Ghana qualified for the African Nations Cup semi-finals yesterday by dint of a 2-1 victory over Nigeria. The Hearts midfielder entered the fray as a second-half substitute with the score at 1-1, Nigeria having moved ahead through Yakubu before Michael Essien's equaliser. Junior Agogo's late winner secured Ghana's passage, and they will meet the winner of tonight's Tunisia-Cameroon match in Thursday's semi-final.

• HEARTS' reserve match against Celtic, due to be played tomorrow in Stirling, has been postponed as the Glasgow club have players away on youth international duty.

Mark McGhee would be my choice to replace Frain at Tyney, but it needs much more than just a manager to revive Hearts. We need better quality players who have the desire to earn their substantial pay cheques by 100% effort every week, not just when it suits them. Aslo, although we are stuck with Romonov at least for the time being but according to reports things are starting to improve behind the scenes and this may mean that Hearts are able to attract McGhee for next season at least.

Indeed Mark, but you were still interviewed for the Scotland job and reportedly came within a whisker of getting it... it wasn't just a story.

He doesn't say where he'll be next season, he doesn't say he's signing (or even negotiating) a contract extension with Motherwell, so who knows?

I'll be watching this story with interest - at least until we appoint Manageras Nomarkis of course.

Obviously McGhee would be a good appointment, but I just don't see it happening. To be honest, I'd be surprised to see anyone leave another job to be the Hearts manager.
While Vlad has said he'll butt out, I'd have thought it's still too much of an unknown for someone to leave a solid job, with a reliable, predictable owner for who-knows-what at Tynie.
6

Pedantic_Hibee,

I'm sure even Debbie McGhee would do for most Hearts fans at the moment.

The bonus of that being that you can employ her husband as a tricky right winger....least it gets Miko out the side.

1 -How is it a kick in the teeth? Before Mark McGhee was Motherwell manager was he high up on supporters wish lists every time a new manager was required at Tynie. He wasn't on mine, and I'm not going to shove him to the top of the wanted list on the basis of "relative" success over a short time period at Motherwell.

Yes, he has a decent past record at management level, but after being out of the game for so long, it will take a bit before I'd see him as the man to take Hearts forward, and certainly won't be jumping on the McGhee bandwagon at the mo.

good one lol

I think there could be a lot more twists and turns to this story,Mcghee isnt going to take any job at moment i said that weeks ago when it was first mentioned we were interested and i was actually surprised he went for the Scotland manager interview.

I know everyones said for long enough a decent manager worth his salt wont touch the Hearts job, however as it appears Vlad has stuck to his word and not been interfering i think a cast iron promise to a new manager, even if its written into his contract the there will be no interference from Vlad, and also a substantial transfer kitty would tempt most managers, no matter who they are.

McGhee was a complete failure in England mate, lets not forget that. Motherwell is the first position he has had with reletively good results, cant say success yet as he hasnt achieved any, only a run of good results and a team playing decent football.

Ill agree with you McGhee wouldnt be my first choice either, but would be arguably better than what we have had since Burley left.
11

Rambo_the_Jambo,

Can't understan why Romanov hasn't done the obvious:

Advertise the post.

That way the management can sift out unsuitable candidates in order to ascertain who is the best man for the job. All we have heard so far is candidates identified by Romanov himself.

Given his track record in 'man-management' I wouldn't really have any faith in anyone he has personally selected.
12

Jambo-ree,

Idle press speculation, probably started by a Weegie red top and aimed at destabilising Motherwell who they no doubt see as the biggest challenge to the OF. We all know how they work, don't we?
13

Salvatori,

04/02/2008 12:37:09
11 - yep, agreed he would be better than what we have had recently, but do you not think the whole McGhee thing is just a tad over hyped at the mo?

Motherwell so far have played some nice football, are obviously above us in the league for the sum total so far of absolutely nowt.

Vlad shouldn't be rushed to make changes and as long as we get a manager in for next season that will galvanise the squad, we be moving forward.

We've had a bad season. We just have to take our lumps and concentrate on the positives.

For me, if hibs don't manage to be in the top six and we do when the split happens it'll be a fun close season on these threads.

unless Romanov specifically puts into a contract for the new manager, whoever it will be, that he WILL have full control of first team affairs etc, then Hearts will struggle to find any manager who will make a positive impact.

agree with #3 too. A mass exodus of players is required and Hearts will need at least 3 or 4 new QUALITY signings (the same standard as Kingston)to get anywhere near where they got 2 seasons ago. The expectation levels obviously soared after 'that' season and quite rightly so. However, Vlads pig-headed attitude and quite regularly absurd decisions on how to run Hearts has seen the quick demise of the club. Anderton describing him as a fantasy football manager was spot on. If he has seen the error of his ways, thank goodness. However, from what the Hearts fans have heard and seen from Vlad over the last 3 years, we would be naive to ignore the possibility that his comments are just a 'smokescreen'. Hopefully, for the sake of the club and its fans, he was being genuine when he said he has made mistakes.

Definately over hyped m8, a lot of poeple think he's the next best thing since sliced bread. The guys done a half decent job in what 6 months, look at what he has worked with, Motherwell have been lucky in the sense they have avoided suspensions/injuries so have been able to play a settled team, and we all know how much of a difference a settled team makes, coupled together with a decent run they had and the momentum builds up the confidence sky rockets, again other teams have done this, but once injuries and suspensions kick in then a couple of defeats the heads start going down, thats when a manager shows his credentials.

Mark McGhee comes across as intelligent, measured and thoughtful and I would not be disappointed to see him at Tynie. I think however that there is a long way to go before the season ends and his admirable commitment to Motherwell can change. 'Well could continue to enjoy their current success or go into a downward spiral, it's happened many times before. The danger comes when their best players get tapped up and become unsettled. I'd like to see how Mark MCGhee's season pans out before getting too enthusiastic about him. I also still think the job is always best done by a Jambo.

Ha ha, Mark McGhee, very good. Presumably Vlad will be signing Garry O'Connor this summer as well, eh?

Another Hearts leak to try and appease the poor supporters? Everyone in Scotland knows McGhee is staying with Motherwell until the end of the season, so it's the easiest thing in the world to claim an interest in recruiting him now. You'll never need to come good on the promise.

How much more of this are you gonna put up with?

Exactly

Alright ?
Wouldn't be too sure about Vlad's relaxation of the reigns with team selection - mind you , Stevie Frail maybe just selects the team that he knows Vlad wants out. Remember Kurskis played when the tea lady was fit , plus Miko has appeared in all seven games since SF's tenure began. Though he had an average game against Rangers - nobody in their right mind would pick this player on one reasonable game in thirty.

Maybe your'e right but some progress has been made in the sense the team is a little more settled, not the same chopping and changing rotational rubbish we had before. I agree Miko would not mine or most peoples first choice however out of those last 7 games i think he has played 4 or 5 decent games not sparkling by any means but not too bad, and we have had injuries/suspensions and kingston is away remember. I reckon a fully fit and available midfield and with Kingston back will show everyone if Vlad is still picking the team or if SF is doing what he thinks Vlad would like, as Miko wouldnt get anywhere near the team.

Whats interesting or got me thinking, is were due to play Gretna this weekend, the game where the protests were expected to start, and in the paper we have more talk of a manager. Could be my paranoia here but isnt it possible someone somewhere at tynie has deliberately planted the seeds to this story to have it in papers to try appease the fans or deflect attention away from any protests. As the week goes on how many more stories about possible managers/players etc will start to appear in the media? i think we might see a few.

The protests being organised against Gretna this weekend should not have been stopped IMO, Vlad has done nothing yet to back up the statement made 1st January, we are still in same postion as a club as we were before, we may have won a couple games and climbed a couple positions in the league but could soon be back down again if teams win their games in hand or we return to loosing ways and start dropping points again.

Actions speak louder than words and at moment its all been words from Romanov.

#50 Funnily enough, there's also a bit on the Hearts website urging the fans to back the team against Gretna!

I agree, while things may be slightly better than they were 2 months ago, there's still no tangible signs of a change. We could have got a manager in during the transfer window, the fact we haven't - and there's been no news from Tynecastle, and no signings other than someone who already had a contract with us - does make me think it may have been a smokescreen to keep us quiet. To me, the reasons the protests were mooted in the first place are still valid, and the concerns should still be there. But for some reason, a statement on the website and a couple of wins is enough to quieten down the fans.

You do not have the financial muscle to attract McGhee, can we just get that one straight without descending into an argument.

You have an owner/bank who allows you to increase your debt, that is all. That is not financial muscle.

If you were to rephrase it and say "McGhee would be attracted to Hearts because there is no limit on the credit card" then yes, I would agree with you.

Agree with you, Hearts certainly pay the wages. I'm not for one second saying there are players going without a salary!!

What I am saying is that it goes towards the debt that's all. It's not financial muscle though.

Sir Tom has financial muscle but he doesn't spend it on Hibs. Vladimir Romanov, although not as cash rich as we think, is asset rich but similarly, he doesn't spend it on Hearts.

Slight change of subject for a minute guys.

Is anyone suprised about this?:

"New signing Fernando Screpis will have to wait to make his Hearts debut, caretaker boss Stephen Frail revealed today"

"Fernando is keen to feature as soon as possible for his new club but Stephen has stressed that patience will be the name of the game for the midfielder, who will not be featuring in this weekend's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Gretna."

"Fernando has trained with us for the last couple of sessions and that gave us the opportunity to have a look at him to assess his fitness," said Stephen.

"However, he is a little bit away yet from the level required. He will keep working on his sharpness and fitness and then we'll see how he is."

Im not surprised by this at all. We knew this would be the case as soon as he opened his mouth and started threatening actions regarding the contract.

# 71 Prof

The point Pedantic was trying to make is that you may spend money on wages ect but this is NOT financial muscle. You are in essence spending money you dont have, a bit like a blonde ex of mine maxing her Credit Cards. Any money you spend on wages or anything else just increases the debt.

However, as you say, no need to worry about it as that famous Charitable organisation UBIG just give money away and expect nothin in return...
74

GrahamL,

04/02/2008 15:49:09
#71 I think the point is that - right now - Hearts are willing to pay the wages to get players like Kingston in, no-one can deny that. Question is are we "spending money" or are we "racking up debt"?
I could go out tomorrow and put a new car on my credit card, doesn't mean I have the financial clout to buy it outright.

The bigger question - which has been debated to death round here - is whether, long term, the debt we're building is manageable? Ultimately nobody knows for sure, fact are Ukio Bankas aren't that big - they're a solid bank, but turn over small profits. UBIG, also not that big. The financial web that Vlad has built up is hard to work out for sure, there are potentially scenarios where he could pull the plug and walk away leaving us in the sh*t - if he's set up the companies that way and that's what he's planning on doing, alternatively he's set up the current structure because it's tax efficient or somesuch and he is in it for the long term.

Rolland,

GrahamL - Not sure Hearts are willing to spend the money to get guys like Kingston in.... We didn't sign anyone of Kingston's quality in the last two transfer windows. Its more like we are getting cheap imports but paying them more than they are worth IMO and calling this finanical clout, it isn't. For example just because you pay more doesn't mean you get value. I think we are paying to much for many of the players we have in the hope of selling them for huge profits. Whilst it probably kept gordon longer and made us a mint on that deal, the opposite happens with the mince and we can't get rid, they are happy to sit and take their wage for doing eff all.

No doubt Hibs signing Colin Nish was a display of financial muscel ? Kilile made him an offer, he KB and went to Hibs. Now suppose Hearts offered barry robson more to come to Edinburgh, do you think he would have ?

I don't and its nowt to do with finance its the way the club is run.

#91 - "Not sure Hearts are willing to spend the money to get guys like Kingston in" Huh? We did. He's in the team. Signed him last summer. Not sure what the rest of your post means. We are spending money, you agree that. The ability to spend money is the same as "financial clout". Strictly we're probably more "willing" than "able" to spend the money, but that's a whole other debate...

I think Romanov gambled big time on us getting to the group stages of the C.L when he took over. Thats worth about 7 mill to even a club like the Jambos. That obviously back fired and we are now still feeling the effects.

Not going to happen this year either so no wonder we're only signing 1 senior and 2 u19 during Jan window. At least he's learned from his mistake! Im looking forward to seeing the figures when the accounts are public. Think we might be in for a wee surprise!

Chas Niceass,

I heard a whisper the Liths are on sweety money. The wage bill I would imagine is greatly reduced and not the problem some believe it to be. Problem with financial accounts I find is that they represent something gone by and not the status quo. I reckon they must have raked in a fair bit this year for perhaps nowhere near the outlay, still not wiping out the debt I realise but the interest is low despite heading East to pay for some other nations pension earner, allegedly.....maybe

Its tw#ts like you that ruin any good banter between fans on these sites.

Anyway, you have won 7 Scottish Cups correct. BUT you have only won 2 Cups in the last 40 odd years!!!! How on earth is that a Big team? You have also only won the League Title 4 (yes FOUR) times in your WHOLE HISTORY!!!! Big teams win more than that I'm sure.

Anyway, by your logic Aberdeen are a far bigger team than Hearts. Odd that their supporters dont embarress themselves by self appointing them as the Big Team.

Big Team? Nah, a team with a once proud history I will grant you that. But right now you have big debt and fans like you simply have big gobs.

Alrity Chas,

Your right of course, my point was more directed towards guys like Fit o the walk however, who only ever go on about Big Team etc. Taking his logic Aberdeen would certainly be described as a big team. I may be wrong, and cant be bothered checking but I think they have won the same amount of Scottish Cups as Hearts, and obviously European trophies. Only they are not a big team and never will be.

Likewise Queens Park are not a big team and they have TEN Scottish Cups to their name.

As for yesterday Rangers should have been out of sight by half time. If you look at one stage of the league this season Hibs were supposed to be out of sight from Hearts but now it's only one point. That gives me hope and winning our last 2 league games does as well. How you can have hope with Hibs means that you must read too much of the bible??

Anton I'd have thought you would have known what the profits for Ukio Bankas or UBIG were or at least one of the many hibo accountants on here might have known

Ukio Bankas net profits for 2007 were 82.5 million LTL
Assets up 995million LTL 33% increase on 2006 to 4.02billionLTL

Or in Pounds

Ukio Bankas profits 17.96 million
Assets up 217million to 875million

Thats just Ukio bankas which as you know are part of the even bigger group UBIG

Umm, no they're not. UBIG was originally a subsidiary of Ukio Bankas, but is now an independent company. Don't know off the top of my head what size they are, but if I was a betting man, I'd say they're smaller than Ukio Bankas.

122 - I hate to put a downer on you, but assets of £875m is not as much as it sounds.

Put it this way, the current savings balances (and yes hoboconomists that's a liability rather than an asset for a bank but hopefully you get the picture) that I look after for the bank I work for are just over £5bn, i.e over five times Ukio's total asset base. And we are a comparatively small bank on the UK market.

And assets for a bank are loans - what's the 'quality' of the assets Ukio has and what's their contingent liability for defaults?

I don't see him donig a runner any time soon, but Ukio is not a particularly big bank.

Chas has got a good point - finance is bl00dy dull, that's why I need football amongst other things to amuse myself!
I'm sure £50m is not unmanageable, but it's still scary and I still don't trust Romanov as far as I could throw him. Although that's probably quite far given his 'person of diminished stature' status......

GrahamL,

As I said at #96, nobody knows for sure - in fact I'd be surprised if anyone out there genuinely understood how all Vlads business interests fit together - but it doesn't stop people, on both sides, picking out various titbits to fit their own opinion.

an argument with hibees about hearts finances. as stuart cosgrove would say, "ya canny beat it HAAA HAAAAAAA!!!".

ahem, anyway.....

lenny, pedantic hobo and others, it smacks of desperation and denial to say that hearts do not have financial clout. while what you are saying about the big wages and any transfer fees which are paid is essentially true, it is money being spent which we don't have, i'm afraid that is just too simplistic a way to look at it.

to a football player or a club selling a player, it doesn't matter a jot where their money comes from, as long as it's paid at all. therefore the term 'financial clout' is a valid description of hearts, comparatively speaking of course.

if hearts offer a player £15K pw compared to an offer he has from another club amounting to £5K pw, that is comparative financial clout. sorry if that isn't what you want to hear but i'm afraid it's true.

you keep saying that the money keeps getting added to the club debt, great, whoopsy-doo.

you know what folks, monies in such as £9M for gordon and whatever they get for a few others in the future WILL reduce that debt. in a way transfer fees such as the gordon money go towards player wages.

that IS financial clout.

123

Chas Niceass,

04/02/2008 18:09:32
On the positive side today, at least we know Dublin Hibs did not slit his wrists after the Tynie defeat.
I also learned today that Big Rob thinks we are gutless gash, gutless gash that beat his side, making them what.
He then somehow made us believe that we were "celebrating" the victory over the team that couldnt beat the pub team, gutless gash team, even though no one said such a thing.
It must be great being a Hibbee, one great wonderful mythical world.

GranhamL Ill stand corrected regarding who is/was the parent campany. At the end of the day, though i was answering Anton in his quest to find out the profits etc that were made last year, that profit only represents UKIO Bankas and not UBIG as a whole. Which will obviously be far greater. I think i could be wrong but was in paper end of last year UBIG's profits then were about 375million

i'm fairly sure he was the other loony sir brian hine QC.

he may well be back under another guise. he wont be hard to spot.

regarding hobos slagging us off and dismissing us as a pub team, gutless gash etc etc, it's no good reminding them of the recent result, it wont register with them. they have a handy ability to ignore what they want to, and overplay what they want to.

Anton the Tynecastle planning application will almost certainly be accepted if you go by anything some council people have said and bu what Hearts have said. the reason it took so long to submit was for this very reason they didnt want it being knocked back for silly little things that needed re-doing. HMFC and the council have been in constant consultation throught the process so HMFC knew that when submitted there would be no objections to the actual work thats to be carried out or the final product.

I note in an earlier post that Rocky Visconte scored for the under 19's a few days ago.
The guy's got quality and dare I say the word flare (the real type - not pseudo FFFHibee version)- Win against gretna and Spl footer guaranteed for next season therefore Give Visconte and others a chance - We did it with Jonsson last season - Success.
Pick 5 youngsters and play two or three per remaining game , perming any two or three from five. Each would get five or six games - A fine grounding for next season.
OOPS forgot - we just HAVE to reach the top six - NAH , scrap that thought - Build for August.

#162, name the 'planning insiders' and your doubts will carry some weight.

for now, just like the article you cut and pasted from, your doubts are pure conjecture.

#164 anton, if they're confident about their projections, they will finance it any way they can, regardless of any loss of proceeds and / or loss of capital from the minsk project.

144

victor ian,

04/02/2008 19:59:21
#165 BH, i think we will have a clearer understanding of current intentions when we see the end result. it's a futile task trying to second guess romanov on any issue.

he's got his own ideas about everything and he's just as likely to go for someone who he can influence to some degree as someone who would / could do a great job.

right now virtually any decent and experienced british manager would be a step forward.

145

victor ian,

04/02/2008 20:05:55
#168 BRtH, correct. i happen to know a counsellor who is fairly confident it will be approved.

you're right, the record article cast a few vague doubts about it. a hatchet job.

don't be too confident about your final wish. the estimated share of the £50M that will account for the extra seating is £10M. if they spend £10M on seats you can be damn sure they will ensure there are bums on them.

146

Vlad Magic,

#170 anton.

"This is recent purchase for a huge amount of moneys and it is of interest how speedy these plans are submitted to planner councils.

If they are submitted in next few weeks then it will show where UBIG's priority lie.

Speed through urban development in city centre while the great supporters of famous football club have to watch FBK Kauno loanees."

really anton? pray tell how that is then?

#173 Victor after 2 p.m. for some reason this forum becomes a bit surreal but today is even more bizarre. We got rid of Riley Horsearse but we now have Anton Slipperyerse spouting about finances. One thing I do know is that banks never indicate what they are up to, so you can discount his comments as drivel.
Also I see Big Rob has progressed from spouting about hearts going into administration to becoming a planning expert. Whatever happened to football?

Gorgie's Finest,

Big Rob.

Mt last post was based on Fact. Fact that what was said has actually been said by HMFC and some coucillors, Nothing was based on conjecture either by myself or others. FACT a word missing from the hobo dictionary.

Charlie Mann himself when he was on talk 107stated these FACTS a week before the application was actually submitted. So unless you want to go down the road and say he lied then fair emough we could day the same about anyone when they make a statement and choose never to believe anyone. So it would be safe to say Petrie is lying about hibs building their new stand. It's all the same m8, you cant have it one way then the other.

What you need to remember as well is what team do the council leaders follow (Not that it will influence any decision im sure) and our first minister who does he support. Not saying in anyway that because they are HMFC orientated that will sway any decision but it may have helped in the planning process when there was communication between hearts and the council.

Would you spend hundreds of thousands of pounds on designs and hiring one of the best architects there is at designing football stadia for an application to be refused ona technicality or because some brick was going to be placed the wrong way? NO you consult with those you will be submitting the application to on each thing before submitting it

Hibernians had JUST won Scottish Cup :) :Says it all

Great result for all of Lithuania last night. I'll raise a wee toast in your direction." Raise a wee toast will ye laddie!!

"The signing of the new EU treaty. Climate change talks break down amid chaos. Serbia and Kosovo strike a deal, but most important of all, The Scotsman revamp its website." Ive spoken English 32 years but I could not get that punctuation spot on.

"Praise the Lord. Life is great." Teach you that in English 2nd period on a Tuesday?

"then its a permutation of all 3." WTF's a permutation!

"oxymoronic" !!!!! LOL!!!! Lemme guess, your dad taught you that one??

Well Anton son. Your grasp of the English language is pretty good son. In fact im amazed at some of the words you use. Even more amazed that despite your unbelievable grasp of the English language and spelling abilities you seem to make the most childish of mistakes.

"corrects" Sounding like Borat now.
"League of Champions " oxymoron anyone??
"Maybe UBIG deliberate to hold back until Minsk problem resolved"

Too true they do!! True story. A reporter of their's turn up on my brother's doorstep the other day asking if he wanted to give them a tribute to.....well, me actually, after my 'tragic' death. They had spent time tracking my brother down based on mispelling the real victim's surname and despite the victim and I having totally different first names.

That's the Daily Record for you. Apology from them is still outstanding.

#209, ranton, that will stand you in good stead in the cell block where you are going.

in the absence of further verdicts, it is customary in this court to make it up as you go along, therefore you are formally found to be guilty of being one riley hamish character.

it is a mandatory sentence i'm afraid. you are to serve a life term of being a hobo.

may god have mercy on your soul.

THank the lord no it doesn't, and he is clearly for too clever even if he is a Scot to be that demented rat bag either.
Did find it very funny the way you lot got stuck into RH the other day though, especially after some of the personal insults and general guff he'd been talkng for weeks, but i do think you should leave ol sergey alone he makes me laugh if nothing else...
I cant even be bothered to comment on the forementioned article as It's a load of nonsense. McGee has no intention of going to Hearts full stop and I'll eat my hat wi chippy sauce on it if I'm wrong...
Oh aye, i haven't really had time to comment since i got back to Oz as work has been somewhat busy after a six week sabattical, but I'll have to hand a grudging congratulations on the Derby win. Moth (short for Motherwell?)

Given your dug's litter, we can be reassured your not the father, otherwise theyd be named hoof, industrial and brutal. My brother in law has a labradoodle, its pig ugly, and not the brightest dog. would you agree this is standard for the breed?

Vic and Mothy, your baiting the Hibs supporters here, are you going to do your usual whinging when they start posting retorts?

As a Hibs supporter myself I can at least enjoy the modicum of humour in your posts, but as you know there are some people who take it too seriously so dont blame them when they start stalking you and boiling your dogs.

When Hibs last won the Scottish Cup the keeper could also pick the ball up anywhere on the pitch!!!

Still at least you have your last cpl of Cup wins on DVD (I hope). As it is more than likely going to be your last piece of silverwear as a professional team...

p.s You Jambo's really do care an awfull lot more about Hibs Scottish Cup Record than any Hibee I know.

Best thread ever, I'm enjoying this entertaining level of childishness, I believe the Wright brothers had been hired to do a flyover before the 1902 cup final but plans were still unfortunately well behind schedule. Henry Ford was official travel sponsor, you could have any colour of car to drive you to the match... as long as it was black.

280

Way Out West,

05/02/2008 14:01:25
Once we have Vic's dog dealt with, Mixu 6-2 should be next up.

Grounds for prosecution:

- offensive to Jambos
- embarrassment to Hibees
- overuse of "pouch", "gunts", "yams" and "ha-ha-ha-ha"
- claims to have been in various jobs including those of a lorry driver, bookie and policeman (we could also charge him on the grounds of impersonating a police officer)
- claims to have been around for the 7-0 game in January '73
- general pain in the @rse.

Those charges are just for starters, your lordships. There may well be more that will be uncovered as the case goes on.

281

Ill pass sentancing on the russian i feel it is my duty, to protect the people of these forums from any impersonators of Mr Ranton Brian Mixu6-2 Biley Hamsish Hines QC, it is bad enough having to deal with the original character/s without havin an impersonator. Travelling without passport and vaccinations is also serious. I therefore have no alternative to pass maximum sentance.

'the dog formerly known as Vics dog is found guilty of impersonation and transformation from its genus Canine to genus Psittaciformus without proper authority from the Threads Authority on Genetic Replications (aka tagger). The criminal is to be transported without delay to the colony of Sth Korea to live out its dog days serving hot spicy noodles with spring roles and do you have any chilli sauce to go with that please?'.

it would seem that the defendant is not present in court. it is within the court's power to proceed with the trial in it's absence.

Yes. in fact it relates to another charge too. namely, all Jambos are either yams, gunts or pouches. also, constant referrals to Hearts getting gubbed on Ne'er day 1973. he also can't stand tynie and constantly mocks HMFC's misfortunes, when his team isn't exactly setting the heather alight either.

One moment M'Lud. as the defendents lawyer I would like to provide some mitigation in his defence. The terminology used, although not helpful, is in fact common parlance down Leith way. Furthemore, The HOMC football team did indeed get 'gubbed' on new years day in 1973, my client was merely providing a a lesson in historical fact. Or should that be hysterical?
304

Lenny,

05/02/2008 14:32:37
What would REALLY make this thread (easily one of the best I have seen on this site), would be Mixu appearing to face the charges. Cmon Mixu, do it....

307

Lenny,

05/02/2008 14:35:24
I should point out that I too have an extreme disliking for Tynie. The stadium is painted a funny colour, has early signs of rust, has seats far too close together for any hetrosexual male to feel comfortable and has a strange yeast smell.

I would therefor ask for this charge to be removed.

As the defendants lawyer im sure you have advised your client that it is an offence to lie under oath. I therefore put it to you your client provided this "historical" fact based on his say so of being at the said event on 1st jan 1973. I further put it to you based on evidence in your clients english reading and writting inabilities he could not possibly of been at this event as his obvious mental age shows he could not even have been a twinkle in his fathers eyes.
309

Jamtastic,

310

victor ian,

05/02/2008 14:41:27
it would seem that this court is in a state of chaos with prosecutors and court officials seemingly defecting to join the defence team.

i move for an extraordinary use of reserved powers whereby the accused is not entitled to a fair trial and can be found guilty as charged and sentenced.

311

Gorgie's Finest,

Charge number 2

Mulitple Pseudos: Serious charge indeed.

I put it to the court This mixu character has and does post with multiple names. I ask all those for the prosecution to present evidence of names known or thought to be Mixu6-2.

Riley Hamish for a start
312

Jamtastic,

05/02/2008 14:45:17
If the court pleases, it is common knowledge that there were 150,000 Hibs supporters at that game, if you go by the number of people claiming attendance. I would purport Mr Mixu 6-2 was indeed at the game in the sense of this having become an urban myth. Actual attendance is therefore different, as such my client has no case to answer. As for his disgust at Tynecastle, or Swinecastle as it is known to the natives of edinburgh, such revulsion is indeed commonplace. Only last week the number of empty hearts supporters seats at the rangers game shows a dislike for the place generally.

Has used as part of mixu6-2's defence the fact that the seating inside Tynecastle aka Heaven, is in fact to close for hetrosexula males. However as your client has been quoted in saying in the past the he was "On all fours" and "On My Knees" and "Im bent over double here" then this clearly shows an admission of homosexual activity. So therefore eveidence should not be accepted
317

victor ian,

05/02/2008 14:52:24
if it pleases the court, i would suggest that the case against mixu 6-2 is of too complex a nature and too time exhaustive to be dealt with in this manner.

i urgently suggest that the court dispenses with all formal proceedings and moves directly to a guilty verdict and a sentence proportionate to the crimes.

No it was at Hampden. Consider yourself sacked as Mixu's representative.

I put it to the court that Mixu is in fact a fake. I have reason to believe that this character is actually NOT a fan of the famous Leith Hibernians. But is in fact, an employee of either

a) Mr Vladamir Romanov. And has been sent to infiltrate these sites with the mission of giving Hibs a bad name.

or

b) A Scotsman employee. Who is employed to write nonsense about Hearts in the hope of getting threads about nothing up to 365 Comments!

"McGHEE insisted today he will remain as Motherwell manager "...he doesn't want the Hearts joab!!!!

McGhee is taking a leaf out of hibernian mgt's book and touting himself for bigger jobs than at Well,,and who can blame him.

Did you see him helping shovel the overspilled scum from the pitch last night on the news? He looked like a right rodney plonker with his shorts on.

So once agian, hertz are being used by folk to springboard their careers, about all they're guid for these days.

The chances of us finishing 7th is non-existent mate, and since Vlad has obviously forgotten you lot exist as an actualling playing football team I don't think you'll do better than 7th or 8th when the split comes.

And you know fine we didn't finish 7th last season, it was 6th!!!!

more to the point, Vlad sees Tynie as a property development and nothing more, he's probably too frightened to actually fly over for a game.
