PRESTONFIELD golf pro Gavin Cook teamed up with David Kidd, a 15-handicapper at the Capital club, to win the Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship regional final at Crieff.
The pair combined to shoot a ten-under-par 61 to win by two shots from a trio of clubs.

Awaiting the duo is a 36-hole grand final at Turkey's Antalya Golf Club, where they will take on 15 other finalists from across Great Britain and Ireland over the PGA Sultan Course.

Meanwhile, defending champion Graham Robertson proved too strong on the night for Lindsay Gordon in the second round of the Turnhouse Open.

Silverknowes star Robertson, also a member Turnhouse, won 6 and 5 to set up a semi-final clash tonight with Scott Young, the host club's junior champion.

Getting better all the time, Young beat Carrickvale's David Ewen at the 19th, a hole earlier than the distance Pumpherston's Mark Timmins was taken before he got the better of John Tait from Dundas Parks.

Timmins now takes on Steven Armstrong, the No.1 player at Turnhouse, after he beat Tom Caldwell 5 and 4.
