BOYS' Brigade members from the Edinburgh, Leith and District Battalion are due to host a celebration dinner tonight to mark the 125th anniversary of the organisation's founding.
It takes place at the Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh and guest of honour will be John Swinney MSP, a former member of the 13th Edinburgh BB Company.

He was my father's batman at the Battle of Lugano, in which, remarkably, they were the only two combatants, resulting in the complete defeat of whoever it was who ought to have been there but wasn't. Hurrah for the Empire!

3. Note to me, odd that, but I can see a resemblence between the much decorated hero of the Protestant Boys Brigade John Swinney and Stupid-boy Pike.
