FIRST Minister Alex Salmond was one of six people allegedly targeted by a man claiming to have sent out letter bombs.
Last night police were reportedly alerted after the man called a newspaper office claiming to have sent the devices on behalf of the Scottish National Liberation Army.

A device, which is not believed to have contained explosives, was sent to the First Minister at his official residence, Bute House, in Charlotte Square.

Also allegedly targeted were the SNP's headquarters in McDonald Road, the Lib Dem MSP for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine Mike Rumbles and Glasgow City Chambers. The man also claimed to have sent devices to two other addresses in Scotland and is understood to have used a recognised code word during the call.

Following the incident police arrested a man at a flat in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, and a 33- year-old man is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff court on Monday in connection with the incident.

#1 Astonished

Do you think it was MI5 or MI6 what done it?

Obviously it wasn't a lone nutter from the lunatic fringes of nationalism. Obviously. Absolutely not. No way. Couldn't possibly be.

Next they'll be telling us Nessie doesn't exist. As if.

Wits the SNLA (if they actually exist) attacking Salmond for ? Do they know he's a nationalist, or am I missing something.
Anyway, I thought Busby was deid or nearly deid ?

Sounds more like a looney who has fantasies...

So Alex, one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter, then?

So anyone knows who is behind this shouldn't cooperate with the police - isn't that right Saeed?

Our Justice Minister should make sure the British Transport Police don't start searching suspects on Scotlands trains, eh MacAskill?

BTW
It wisnae me!

#1 - "I do hope no one is fooled by this."

We'll find out who it is after he appears in court in Paisley on Monday. Despite what Osama Saeed, SNP prospective Parliamentary candidate for Glasgow Central, says, anyone with information should contact the police without delay.

This has almost certainly been the actions of a lone nutter. The original SNLA consisted of one deluded bloke (now dead). It shouldn't be taken lightly however. Whoever did this could be a very dangerous individual.

The "terrorist" called his bomb threat into the Daily Record from his own apartment, which should tell you what sort of git your dealing with.

The SNLA is a fiction cooked up by Busby, and then imitated by 2 sad weirdos in Manchester and now this one in Paisley.

The only thing that all of them actually have in common is they are all attention seeking morons.

I bet it turns out to be a labour activist and nowt to do with the SNP. Notice how the SNP was targetted. Why would someone, from a fictictious organisation being for independence, go out to damage the only party able to get the person closer to their ultimate aim.

I smell a whiff of wendies week old tena about this.

Can't stand Salmond myself but he is the elected first minister and any nutter who threatens our elected representatives should have the book thrown at them. Unfortunately this idiot could result in copycat idiots actually causing harm.
