THE Scottish Executive's "national conversation" website on the country's constitutional future has passed the 20,000 hits mark.
It was launched as First Minister Alex Salmond published the SNP administration's white paper on a referendum on independence last week.

Ministers want to see a wide-ranging debate about the country's constitutional future.

Daily hits on the website have averaged about 3000 over the first week.

This is well up on the response to the Clearing the Air website, set up ahead of the smoking ban becoming law.

More than 1200 comments have been posted on the "national conversation" website.

In addition, more than 12,000 have viewed the white paper online, with almost 5000 downloads for printing.

"In the first week it's got off to a great start," said an Executive spokeswoman. "We're very pleased with the way it's going."

Would suspect that is where the action is yes! But at least 20,000 folk have been curious enough to go have a look which is not bad going.

#3 Howyou doing. Good to see Unionists are logging on the national conversation.

Here is how Wendy describes Scottish labours intllectual contribution over past 100 years:

"She said the Scottish Labour Party had not made any real intellectual contribution for nearly 100 years ..."

i only hope that when any vote does come we do not get fitted up like the last time when when a no vote was counted as someone not wanting it , unless there a law passed making voting compulsory there will never be a 100% turnout and not even then , anyone wish to stop independence for scotland should get of thier backsides and say so at the polls or keep quiet when 51% of those who do bother to vote do so in favour of scotland taking control of its own destiny, i also believe that if english voters were allowed to vote on this matter that will affect them too the majority will be ever bigger in favour, as for the other parties claiming that not one of the people that voted for them do not wish independence is just a reflection on how narrow minded they are and how much they need to be a part of the uk to give themselves a chance of a good job from thier friends when they leave office.

20,000 interested? Hardly a mandate for independence!

Has to reach at least 1 million before i will accept their referendum plans!

Surely at least the 1 million mark should be reached out of a population for 5 million!

Warning: Never ever vote for any party with nationalist in its name.

#6 In a week that is a start. Surely you are not claiming that this interest level is the a mandate for independence. If you choose to vote or not is your affair, but you must accept the majority verdict, whether you like it or not.

and #7 What is wrong with a party with nationalist in its name?

and #3 What makes you think that was a Nationalist comment? Marks you as the narrow-minded tripe

Labour should be worried - Vote SNP - I did for 10 years before I came here - can't wait to vote for them again when I come back.
Why would we want to keep ties with a Westminster parliament that dumps nuclear waste in our country (why don't they dump it in their country!) - used as the guinea pigs for the poll tax (I got dinged on that one too!, inflicted you with the council tax and the hits just keep on coming. For all you Unionists out there - let's here your convincing case?????? I guess you would have been fighting against your countrymen against William Wallace and Robert the Bruce...... you are all great with your painted faces and flying of our flags at the ruby and the football but if you aren't voting for independence then you are all a bunch of traitors! You might as well get the politicians to bend over and kiss their rear ends!

Last time I looked Westminster was the seat of the British government and Scotland is part of their country.

used as the guinea pigs for the poll tax

I will agree with you there, it should have been brought in all over the UK at the same time (fairest tax there is)

I guess you would have been fighting against your countrymen against William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.

Why would we have been fighting for the union against Wallace and Bruce, the union did not even exist when they were kicking around.

you are all great with your painted faces and flying of our flags at the ruby and the football

Whats ruby.

if you aren't voting for independence then you are all a bunch of traitors!

We are in Scotland doing what we believe is best for Scotland.
WHERE ARE YOU.

You might as well get the politicians to bend over and kiss their rear ends!

Better that than bending over ourselves and getting shafted by Salmond and his mob.

10# Pender.Quite agree. What have labour ever done for Scotland? They've been nothing but Westminster's anglofied yes men for all those years and Scotland still has the worst in everything negative from the highest suicide rate in U.K. to worst health, soaring violence, crime, alcoholism, worst housing etc.etc.etc.ad infinitum ad nauseam and yet the numpties won't vote themselves free of their Wstminster masters while the traitors and Quisling scaremongers predict doom and disaster if anyone dares mention independence and freedom. It's always a minority who carry the flag of freedom ask the Irish if you don't believe me..most of them thought the 1916 Dubln rebels a bunch of idiots..now Ireland has her freedom they're lauded as heros but not at the time...they couldn't make any headway because of informers...Irish informers.. Michael Collins soon changed that. Now Scotland has a chance of complete Independence it's got to be taken and I'm sure the results will be pleasantly surprising...it can't get any worse. Another example of strange perverted and twisted loyalty springs to mind. The American Civil war when some of the Southern slaves offered to form a regiment and fight for the South! To fight for their masters so they could be kept in bondage! They were refused. Get off your knees Scotland and stand on your own two feet...you can do it even after three hundred years of Anglofication and conditioning ...you'll never know you can do it till you try and those wimps who don't like it can go live down south.Labour=useless.Tories=useless lib-dems=useless...so what are you left with? get out there and vote SNP.
