A CHARITY football tournament is to take place in Edinburgh as part of last-ditch bid to raise enough money to fund this year's Homeless World Cup in Milan.
The annual event will see 48 teams and 500 homeless football players travel to Italy.

But a £10,000 shortfall has emerged in the funds available to get all the teams to the tournament.

The five-a-side competition in Edinburgh is among a number of events planned to raise the final funds needed.

It will take place at the Powerleague at Sighthill's Bankhead Drive at 1pm on 19 July. It costs £50 to enter each team, of 5-7 players.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is among the supporters of the Homeless World Cup. He has said previously that it can help change people's lives.
