VICTORIA Crake of auction house Lyon & Turnbull models fur gloves given to the 11th Earl of Buchan by George Washington.
The gloves are thought to have been gifted to the Earl of Buchan when he inherited the Earldom from his father in 1767. They are accompanied by a note saying "Gloves presented by the late General Washington to the late Earl of Buchan."

The gloves are valued at between £800 and £1,200 and will be sold at the firm's sister auction house in Philadelphia, Freemans, to mark American Independence Day, which falls today.
