DEFENCE lawyers called for judges to postpone their verdict in the Dujail trial of Saddam Hussein, left - expected tomorrow - and let them present final arguments in defence of the deposed Iraq president.
Saddam is expected to be convicted on charges of crimes against humanity and condemned to death. He denies killing 148 Muslim Shiites in 1982.

With a bit of luck he'll be found not guilty, and resume his rightful place as President of Iraq and restore law and order.

Things were a lot better under him than they are with the Bush/Blair axis of evil.

Are you both out of your minds? You can't be for real!!! Do you honestly believe everything will go back to status quo if he is found innocent?

The trial is a Show. Saddam can't walk, it would be a neutering blow to Bush, Blair and the War Team. The whole official point of the Iraq war was to remove Saddam and his (imaginary) WMD.

Saddam has to be found guilty and will probably be found guilty before the US elections in a few days, because it would make such a nice campaign moment for the Republicans.

As for the Iraq bloodbath this will cause...

lynne - it's not our country, not our business, not our war - but you Americans just can't stay at home & mind your own business, never happy unless your tramping over foreign soil/sand, especially if there is an oil dump or two to be had.

Iraq IS our business. The loonatics who still reside there will be out to kill us wether we are in Iraq or not. Some people just don't get it. The extremists are out to kill anybody who does not support their warped point of view. I am an athiest and have every right to be without having to worry about some idiots who want to murder anyone who does not agree with them. They need to to be wiped off the planet. Sadam is one of them. Do not forget what murderous deeds he committed!!!!
