A NEW recycling appeal by a city computer store hopes to turn old mobile and printer cartridges into cash for the benefit of the Sick Kids Hospital.
Scott Wilkinson, of SimplyFixIT in Juniper Green, said: "Fundraisers traditionally call for donations of money – but not ours. Instead of cash, we want people to hand us items that are usually placed in the bin."
SimplyFixIT is running its campaign to raise cash in partnership with experts at the Edinburgh Recycling Appeal.
The appeal gives the group £5 for every mobile phone and £1 for every printer cartridge collected and handed over.
The store passes on the money raised to the Sick Kids, while the appeal will ensure the cartridges are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
