Bank's £300k Wimbledon treat

ROYAL Bank of Scotland is to spend up to £300,000 entertaining guests at Wimbledon.
The tournament package for senior executives and customers includes fine food and £75 bottles of champagne.

The entertainment suite will also be available for more than 40 guests for the entire 13-day tournament at £19,500 a day.

Each centre court seat will also cost the bank £100.

Lunch will be £75 per person and a fee of £150 for flowers will also be charged.

Vince Cable, the Treasury spokesman for the Liberal Democrats, said that it is "totally insensitive" for "corporate fat cats to have a good time at public expense".

Poor reporting on this across all the media.

If RBS is to get back to making profis it needs a client base and this type of event is part and parcel of that.

RBS has reduced its hospitality by about 90 per cent. Are the media really going to go after what they do with the reamining 10 per cent as if it was the good old days? Pretty pathetic.

Do the media want the taxpayers money returned? If so let the new management run the bank as a commerical enterprise.
