PRINCE William is set to be best man at the wedding of an Edinburgh-based member of the royal family.
Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips, 29, is to marry his Canadian fiancee, Autumn Kelly, 31, at Windsor Castle next May.

Peter, who is tenth in line to the throne, works as a sponsorship manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland in the Capital. He met the management consultant four years ago at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The couple split their time between the Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire and a home in Edinburgh.

William and his brother Harry have always been close to their older cousin, which would provide the prince with plenty of ammunition for his best man's speech.

Peter was the first royal baby to be born a commoner in 500 years, after Anne and her then-husband Captain Mark Phillips asked that he be not given a title.

How many other 'commoners' get married at Windsor Castle? What's wrong with one of Edinburgh's registry offices?

#2 Windsor Castle is a cheaper option now Edinburgh has put up its charges.

#1 & 2 - Your comments reek of jealousy for a lifestyle both of you would lap up in a minute, given half a chance. You're just a pair of inverted snobs.

#3 - Commentator - Admit it, you have photo of the Queen above the fireplace and stand up whenever you hear the opening bars of "God Save The Queen".

People like you are a dying breed.

Thankfully.

Ignore me comment about the future Queen of England. In a semi-senior's moment I got Prince William mixed up with Mister Peter Phillips.

It is sometimes difficult to keep track of all the marriages, divorces, separations, estrangements, and other shenanigans in the British royal family

#4 - jelous? nope - im sorry but why would i be jelous of them? they have nothing i want. Fact that they get everything for free (i prefer to work for what i get, that way i can say hand on heart i didnt get a handout like they do), go to join the army and chicken out of going to iraq due to the fact he "might become king" (point of going through all the training was....?) and they act like they are gods gift. Sorry but they are imo a bunch of anachronisms.

Ho Hum -- Hasn't this little tart done well for herself! I am surprised they didn't mention who the groomsment would be (
Autumn's male relatives are a spicy lot who could probably bring along some good pot for Harry & Wills) and some of the females - well..... She does have a lovely cousing who would give Katie a run for her money - she's also a heck of a lot better looking than autumn - she has normal sized eyes -not the little slitty ones like Autumns) and a great bod to boot. Her auntie could provide strippers for the bachelor party - but they probably wouldn't be classy enough. So are the British taxpayers looking after the bill for this party too? I am surprised that they are still carrying on this way for all of these years - imagine the hovels many of the workingpoor live in, and how many British kids go hungry every night - while the Queen, Harry Willy, and the rest of this parasitic family party at all costs! Pity -only in england you say???

Having the wedding in the bride's home town in Canada would be unique and likely a great boon to the Family's standing in Canada. I suppose protocol dictated otherwise.
