DEMOCRATIC Unionist leader the Rev Ian Paisley has told Sinn Fein it must "turn from its evil ways" ahead of today's count in Northern Ireland's Assembly Election.
Both parties are expected to make more gains today in nine of the 18 constituencies after yesterday's count, which showed the Rev Paisley and GerryAdams had built up considerable leads over their unionist and nationalist rivals. With 72 of the 108 seats declared, the DUP led with 25 Assembly members elected while Sinn Fein had 24.

Mr Adams said those who voted did so to see Northern Ireland's institutions working and "those against that have their answer, it seems, in fairly overwhelming terms". The British and Irish governments hope the outcome of the election will lead to the restoration of devolved government at Stormont.

The cross-community Alliance Party performed particularly well with three seats already in the bag, including one for Hong Kong-born Anna Lo.

Paisley is a fraud. Fact is, he needs an enemy. SF, the Pope, 'sodomites', non-church goers... Why trust someone who got his 'doctorate' and 'church' from a Yank in a caravan?

Paisley has said 'No' for so long he has forgotten there are other words.

On the other hand, while he has, in the past, been thought of as a ranting, crazed eejit, a lot of what he was saying has turned out to be true.

Peace in Ireland. Let it be. "Let the dead bury their dead."

ITs about time Paisley was called out on the virulent , bigoted outlook he has always had and has obviously inculcated into his equally blindfolded son. he doesnt want peace and is definitely not a reverend gentleman by any means. He keeps coming up with excuses and the press keep letting him get away with it. He needs to deliver

"Sinn Fein 'must turn from its evil ways' insists Paisley ... "

Methinks 'tis a case of the pot and the kettle here.

Paisley always irritates the hell out of me. My old dad used to scream he was going to turn Pape if that "bigoted ar****le was ever allowed on telly again!

No 1* very good point. Paisley was one of the gangsters who founded the Ulster resistance movement. These terrorists imported arms from South Africa. The guns later found their way into the hands of loyalist sectarian murder gangs, who used them to murder hundreds of Catholics.Paisley was photographed twice, wearing the red beret of the Ulster resistance movement. The guns that they imported are still in the hands of the loyalist drug gangs.

paisley a reverent, you are joking, he is a hate filled, bigoted, sectarient, disgusting excuse for a human being, with people like him and his likes there will never be peace in northern ireland, how sad it is for the human race that these knuckle draggers still roam the planet causing hardship wherever they go, with their tiny minds closed to an open dialogue on peace, but by the looks of him he does not have much more time before he meets his maker, then maybe things will start to improve over there
