HANDBAGS worth £30,000 were stolen during a "ram raid" at an upmarket city store today.
Police said a small black car reversed into the glass shop front of Mulberry in Multrees Walk at about 4am.

The man driving the car is described as wearing dark clothing and white trainers.

The car was seen a short time later in Broughton Street.

A police spokeswoman said: "We are interested to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, or who saw this car, which would have suffered substantial damage to the rear."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131 or Crimestoppers, in confidence and complete anonymity, on 0800 555 111.
