A WALKWAY is to be constructed across the roof of a city shopping centre to help disabled people access Waverley Station.
The route, which would run from Princes Street across the top of the Princes Mall, would lead to a lift connecting the shopping centre with the station below.

The plans are part of Network Rail's £14 million scheme to replace the Waverley Steps with three banks of escalators. All maintenance costs for the walkway would be met by Network Rail.

I think that this 'unrestricted access' to Waverley station should have taken much greater precedence than the reopening of the "Nor Loch Bar" at the station (as reported on other EN pages)!
