THE warm weather is set to continue into the weekend, forecasters said today, after Edinburgh yesterday recorded its hottest temperature of the year.
The mercury reached 29.5C in the Capital, making it warmer than both Rome and Corfu.

The Met Office said the sunshine would continue on Saturday and Sunday, but temperatures would dip and there would also be a scattering of light showers.

A Met Office spokesman said: "It's another been another fine start to the day today and we'll see temperatures of around 24-25C. But there's a band of rain that will be heading over Edinburgh during the afternoon.

"There's cooler air coming in over the weekend and it will be more like normal temperatures."
