SENIOR councillors have declined to rule out closing a community centre in Bonnington in two years' time.
The Bonnington Resource centre provided day services for 116 people with a learning disability last year.
That number, however, has since dropped to 67, after some users were transferred to Pefferbank Centre, and others now receive home-based support.
Labour councillor Gordon Munro said: "I have been approached both by the parent of one of the users, and by one of the workers from Bonnington Resource Centre, who expressed to me their concerns that the centre is about to close or be phased for closure."
City housing leader Paul Edie replied: "I would say that for the next couple of years it is not our intention to close down Bonnington Resource Centre, but I can't give you a guarantee that in two years' time – with more service users getting their services delivered closer to where they live – that there will still be a need for it."
