COMEDIAN and radio presenter Susan Morrison is to host a charity fundraising event in the Capital.
The Edinburgh business networking organisation the Power Lunch Club will be raising money for the Thistle Foundation at the lunch event in the Holiday Inn at Picardy Place.

It is hoping to raise more than £2000 for the charity when nearly 100 businesses take part in the event, on October 30.

A raffle is to feature prizes donated by various businesses, which include weekend breaks in Milan and Florence.

All money raised will go to help support disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.

Gordon Dow, event organiser and owner of the Power Lunch Club, said: "In these tough economic times, to have so many forward-thinking businesses that are focused on networking for their companies is fantastic.

"The businesses which will come through all this stronger will be the ones who are making themselves visible in the market place and talking about their products and services to others."

Who goes to 'power lunches' nowadays? Most business contacts I have are too busy trying to keep their jobs to spend time quaffing in the middle of the day.
