A FORMER soldier from the Capital is to stand against MP Nigel Griffiths in the general election on an anti-sleaze platform.
The Edinburgh South MP was alleged to have had a sex romp in his House of Commons study.

Ex-Royal Corps of Signals soldier John Wallace had asked the commissioner to investigate security rules and the possible use of a public funds to pay for a computer reportedly used to download pictures from the evening.

His complaints were rejected by Parliamentary Standards Commissioner John Lyon, who said they would not have breached the code of conduct as such behaviour was a personal matter. Mr Wallace will stand against Mr Griffiths as Jury Team candidate in a bid to make politicians accountable.

the sleaze and corruption seeps out of the pores of lybour ministers and mps at westminster,as charities call for funds to feed the under nourished children in britian they take part in the biggest fraud of expenses in the history of politics, money that should have been put to aid the poor in the country, they even have time on their hand for disgusting liaisons at westminster

1,2 - if you really wanted to beat Nigel Griffiths, why on earth would you vote for the party that came fourth last time??? Surely, voting Liberal Democrat would be more unlikely to unseat him?

What we have seen today with "McBridegate" is the tip of an iceberg of New Labour's methods of ensuring that the next UK general election is going to make Crewe & Nantwich and Glenrothes look like a schoolgirl’s playground fight.

New Labour are intent on a dirty, smear filled, personalised, negative, divisive political campaign that will reach a new low in UK and Scots politics.  Just look at the people who are at the heart of the Brown bunker - brutal, malevolent, mendacious unpleasant-to-the-core people. New Labour will use vote rigging/ballot stuffing/block vote buying/dog whistle polititics/character assassination/postal vote fraud and their friends and family in the dead tree media/BBC will promote New Labour and sabotage the Tories at UK level and the SNP in Scotland.

The thinking behind the above is that if done with determination it might just cut the Tory vote enough to ensure that New Labour could do a deal with the Liberal Democrats to sahre power at Westmister IF they come third.

Little chance of beating Nigel Griffiths I'm afraid. Sources say he always comes first.

He may have won in the past but every year it's been by less and less. The Lib Dems are putting up a big fight there and with Griffith's recent behaviour it might just be enough to get him out at last.

5 Why on earth would you vote for a party which has no chance of winning at Westminster?
They may gain ground in England and may even survive in Edinburgh but they are known to be washed up in most of Scotland, and the opinion polls show this. I am interested in electing a government, not an opposition. That means I can vote Tory and get a Tory government, vote Labour and get a Tory government, vote Lib Dem and get a Tory government or vote SNP in sufficient numbers and get rid of the Tory government eventually.

Reality is a pain I agree , but you cannot escape it.

I nearly forgot. I think he might get 500 votes .I will be very surprised if he gets any more. If you really are fed up with sleaze then replacing the NEW SLEAZE PARTY with the party we removed for the very same reason hardly makes much sense either. Independence is the answer and we can have open accountable government in Edinburgh. Westminster will never be accountable.Thats why half your MPS are there! They know its a free help yourself at the pig trough.
