A MAJOR exhibition charting 20 years of Ian Rankin's famous creation Inspector Rebus is to have its opening hours extended.
The National Library of Scotland, on George IV Bridge, has announced that the exhibition, Crime Scene Edinburgh: 20 Years of Rankin and Rebus, will remain open until 8pm on weekdays due to popular demand.

The exhibition, which runs until January 13, includes Rankin's own memorabilia, material from the library's collections and items from Lothian and Borders Police, along with interactive displays and a recreation of Rebus's much-loved Oxford Bar.

Can't see the big deal about the Oxford Bar.Was in it a couple of months ago and it's a dirty wee place.Patrons weren't friendly either.Must say I like Rankin's books though.

4 - I think you took it way too far - speechless and disgusted? Why? Did he murder, rape or assault someone? No. So I think you really need to get a life!

The fact that the exhibition has had it's hours extended says it all about his work and the amount of fans he has in Edinburgh.

Keep your jealous stupid comments for articles that deserve them!

#5 - at least the Ox still has a bit of character about it, unlike most of these totally soul-less drinking sheds comonly referred to as 'theme bars'.

I'd rather have a pint and some abuse from Harry the Barman that go to one of these places where you can't hear yourself think.

Is Ian Rankin right to praise author Katie Price (Jordan) for boosting literacy?
Yes - she must be raising reading levels if people are buying her books
No - I've seen better literature on the back of a bus ticket
Errr... I only bought mine to look at the pictures
