LABOUR MSPs will meet today to discuss the way forward following the party's worst election result in Scotland in a generation earlier this month.
However, Jack McConnell's position as leader will not be up for debate at the day-long Holyrood meeting, a spokeswoman said.

She insisted there was "absolutely no mood for change" among the party's 46 MSPs, and that Mr McConnell will discuss how he plans to take Labour forward in the coming "months and years".

The private meeting will review a Scottish Parliament election campaign that saw the SNP's Alex Salmond, whose party won one more MSP than Labour, become First Minister.

Members will also plan their approach to life as the largest party in opposition against an SNP minority government.

Meanwhile, with his party north of the Border deciding on their future, Tony Blair continued his long goodbye with a week-long tour of Africa. He was heading to Libya today, and will also visit Sierra Leone and South Africa.

'She insisted there was "absolutely no mood for change" among the party's 46 MSPs...'.

If Labour MSPs actually believe this then they are truly delusional and clearly still in denial about losing the election.

If Labour MSPs don't believe this but expect the rest of us to, then they are truly delusional and still in denial about what they have to do to regain public trust. Labour just can't stop the lying and spinning whether in or out of power.

The post-election contrast between the new Scottish government's positive, hit the ground running approach and Labour's shambolic, carping, negative performance is quite remarkable.

I get the feeling this session of The Scottish Parliament will be the longest suicide note in New Labour history. People have finally woken up and no longer will we put up with career politos from the West Coast New Labour Mafia.

a spokeswoman "insisted there was "absolutely no mood for change" among the party's 46 MSPs" LOL

Same old labour. Let your Westminster bosses make the decisions. Just continue to be the puppets you've always done, after all, you were successful at it for 50 years. Why change it now? Surely this is juts a blip? The peopel haven't really sussed you out? Or have they?

(Has the last gravy train pulled into Glasgow Central? I expect to see a droves of them depart at the next election....)

Why should they listen to their critics? It's not like they have before!

Why doesn't McConnell and his scumbags just disappear to somewhere away from here, but to where ahhh.. , why didn't I think of it sooner, their favourite place --LONDON -- Blair will have a big lavish party for them and then put them all up in 10 Downing St then they can all live happily ever after. I'm very sure that lot will be stopped and searched.
