NAPIER University is hoping to produce some of the leading organisers of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games with the launch of an intensive course.
The university's business school wants to prime individuals for both Glasgow 2014 and the London 2012 Olympics.
With the four-day intensive training course, university officials hope most of the organisers for both events will have been through the Napier course.
George Stonehouse, the dean of the Business School, said: "The broad nature of this management programme has been designed to meet the needs of all those seeking to develop or create careers in the events arena."
"We want to nurture and develop that talent at Napier."
A spokeswoman for the university added: "With the UK soon to be hosting two of the largest sporting events in the world, the London Olympic Games in 2012 and the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014, there has never been a more important time to have well trained professional staff in events management."
The executive certificate in event management - linked to the university's degree equivalent - will begin on January 28 next year.
