Galloway to host radio show from Lebanon

MAVERICK politician George Galloway is set to broadcast live from Lebanon on Edinburgh radio station Talk 107 this weekend.
The MP and star of Celebrity Big Brother will be hosting the radio phone-in from Beirut on Saturday and Sunday night from 8pm.

Mr Galloway said: "I'm the first British political figure to visit the wreckage of Beirut and the south of Lebanon, seeing for myself the enormous toll taken by the aerial bombardment.

"I'll be reporting to Talk 107 listeners on just what I've found here and inviting guests from across the spectrum in Lebanon, who know what they're talking about.

"I'll be taking calls from the listeners across Edinburgh, Fife and the Lothians as normal during this two-day special on the conflict in the Middle East, its fundamental causes and a way forward for peace."

I recall my great joy and amusement watching George taking US Senators to the cleaners when he stood in front of a Senate Hearing, being accused of accepting oil cash from Iraq. US Senators and the US public were suddenly being told the story they most definitely did not expect or wish to hear. The attempted stitch-up lost more than a few stitches.
George will, as AJ says in # 4, tell it like it is in respect of US and UK foreign policy. Good for him and I look forward to the broadcasts.

He already did praise them and recognize them as a NATIONAL RESISTANCE MOVEMENT and he mentionned the fact that Israel has been OCCUPYING lebanon all of his 24 year old daughter's life.
He also took that stupid b*** that was interviwing him to the cleaners on sky news, when he asked her to name him just ONE of the palestinian family slaughtered on the beach in Gaza, whereas she knows the names of every israeli soldier and casualty, and he said like it is: all u people beleive that israeli blood is more valuable than palis or lebanese blood.

If there is a minority of idiot palistinians that are doing that in Israel - then they have nothing to do with HAMAS, OR HEZBOLLAH. They don't follow the regulations or rules of the true Islamic religioun.

As for Hezbollah...if it has followed such a path of men strapping a bomb to themselves, it was with Israeli military tanks and soldiers in our own land, not innocent women and children.

Find me evidence otherwise and then call Hezbollah terrorist.

Hezbollah does not torture the Israeli prisoners - yet Israel tortures the muslim prisoners, women and men.

Come see the area where they were kept when Israel occupied the south. They were left naked to the winter cold and summer sun. They threw burning water over them and quickly threw freezing cold water over them during the summer, they threw freezing water over them in the winter, they were beaten and electrictuted...i repeat, also women. Go listen to some of the Israeli prisoners who were freed...and listen to them explain how they were treated by Hezbollah...they were treated humainly as you would treat your own brother.

If you want to stick to your belief that Hezbollah is a Terrorist group...that's up to you.

But no one can deny that Israel is not A TERRORIST STATE...

Paul...I will say something that shouldn't be said, because we have to remain united as one in Lebanon to keep the peace..

Hamas - Al-quaida - the ones that killed the americans - the terrorists in scotland - they are all sunnite muslims...

As for the shiites - we believe that prophet muhammad's family was killed by those very terrorists that are terrorising other countries.

Hezbollah is a shiite group that has nothing to do with them and condemns all such extremist actions. If I have my knowledge wrong about Hamas... I am after all Lebanese living in Lebanon and have seen what's been going on...Hezbollah has not done any such actions - and it is unfair to side them along with those terrorists. Shiite muslims and beliefs are against such extremism. If you don't believe me - GO DO YOU HOMEWORK - and read about the difference between shiites and sunnis...I add Iran is a shiite state and if it sticks by us, it does so as the Americans stick by the Israelis...And i add, not all sunni muslim people are terrorists...especially the ones in Lebanon, they are just as democratic and against terrorism as the next person.

I haven't seen any terrorism actions from Hezbollah nor heard of it, nor has anyone else. Go into the sites about Hezbollah and see what they are about...Sites that aren't written by Americans of those against them ... sites that tell the truth. what julie meant, it's a little obvious that she has a little trouble translating from arabic to english, but looking the other way, is not as we know it, meaning that we just ignore it..in arabic, it means that we wouldnt be looking in their direction anymore.

If you really are interested, why not ask the Hezbollah how they feel about them? Although you may not like what you hear... But then, if Hezbollah are as moderate as you claim then things may be ok.

The Ahmedi muslims are a minority sect of muslims. More like a religions movement. They were persecuted and killed in Pakistan in 1984.

It was founded in 1889 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. The difference between what they say and other muslims are little (at least to us). But it is surprising that such little difference is sufficient to kill so many according to the "religion of peace".

We all know that a small difference between people's beliefs and laws can make wonders and chaos.

Pakistan is actually very different than they way the shiite lebanese live here. For instance, they have arranged marrages which is totally against the Islamic religioun (the shiite) anyways....and who knows what other differences they have & they are sunnit not shiite.

May Al-Quaida be wiped out as they were _ i truly haven't heard of them but i wouldn't be surprised that they were since they got wiped out...As for what's going on in Lebanon, its not because of religioun...its one country against the other...yeh, Hezbollah is a religous group (but no religioun or moral human being will stand to watch others bombard their countries and keep their men captives)...

I do insist that Hezbollah is no terrorist group...it hasn't acted out any terroristic actions outside or inside its own country...Its past rockets were launched in retalitaion to the Israeli bombadment overlooking whether you believe it was Israel that decided on the war or Hezbollah that started it. I'v already explained that point....
