THE controversial former Bishop of Edinburgh is to present a radio talk show for the BBC.
Richard Holloway will be presenting Sunday morning shows in a new series which starts on BBC Radio Scotland later this month.

The 74-year-old was Bishop of Edinburgh from 1986 to 2000 and is a former Professor of Theology.

He was regarded as one of the most outspoken and controversial figures in the Church thanks to his high-profile support of liberal causes, including campaigning on rights for gay and lesbian people.

The first programme of the Sunday Morning With Richard Holloway series will begin on February 22, at 8.05am.

Most 74-year-olds would be lucky to get a job picking up other people's used Kleenexes. But then, they're not bishops, are they?

BBC Radio Scotland should be lynched for this shameful display of religious discrimination. When I sent them an audition tape for my own proposed talk show, Trams Yes, God No: Jenny Mac's Fearless Crusade For Reason, they didn't even bother to reply!

On the very same day we see another bishop having his driving ban postponed by the courts after a string of motoring offences:

When I got twelve points on my licence there was none of this kid-glove stuff - I was dragged off to the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and kept there for four months! But then, I'm not a bishop, am I?

Plainly there's one law for the sky-fairy freaks and another for the sane sensible atheists in so-called "twenty-first century" Scotland!!

A Sunday morning show, I take it that he'll be going to the evening service then, or doesn't he need the church now?
