ARSENAL captain William Gallas admits he has been the butt of jokes since France's shock 1-0 defeat to Scotland in Paris.
The defender did not even play in the Parc des Princes match as he was injured, but is fit again now and was eager to feature in today's Euro 2008 qualifier against the Faroe Islands.

Gallas was targeting maximum points from this weekend's outing and next Wednesday's home tie with Lithuania.

France will complete their qualifying campaign in Ukraine on November 21.

Gallas said: "The defeat to Scotland surprised a lot of people and people have been joking about it in England, but I have tried not to rise to the bait.

"It's in the past and we must look forward.

"We need six points and then to look forward to the Ukraine game. We can make people fear us."
