THREE wolves have arrived at Edinburgh Zoo, marking the return of the beast after 16-years.
The male European wolves, named Dalls, Puika and Ilknis, have been transferred from the Highland Wildlife Park.
One male stayed behind , where he has been joined by a female in the hope they will breed.
Iain Valentine, of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, said: "We're really pleased to welcome back the wolves to Edinburgh Zoo. They are an iconic species and were missed by visitors and staff when they left the collection."
And the zoo is also celebrating the arrival of 30 newly hatched penguin chicks from a record-setting clutch of 112 eggs.
There are more than 80 eggs still to be hatched.
