A LOTHIANS MSP will be taking the plunge for Marie Curie Cancer Care as part of the world's largest swimming fundraiser.
Gavin Brown will swim 5km at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh next Saturday.

A total of 56 Scottish pools are taking part in this year's Swimathon between April 17 and 20, aiming to raise £1.8 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Swimming Foundation. Mr Brown said: "I decided to take part in the Swimathon after seeing a poster at our local swimming pool where I take my daughter swimming every week.

"As a keen swimmer when I was younger, I thought that this could be a great way to encourage me to get fitter again. I was also really pleased to see that the money raised would go to Marie Curie."
