A CAMPAIGN to save the Elm Row post office in Leith Walk will gather pace with a series of public meetings to highlight community opposition to its closure.
It is one of 13 sub-post offices scheduled to close across the Capital and one of three proposed to shut in MP Mark Lazarowicz's Edinburgh North & Leith constituency.

The others are at Goldenacre, and Pilrig Toll.

Mr Lazarowicz said: "What I am aiming to do is to put together a good, well-argued, case for the retention of sub-post offices which are important for the local community, showing what the effects would be on local peoplE."

Representatives of the Post Office will be present at the meetings on Thursday September 18, 7pm in Inverleith Parish Church hall (for Goldenacre), and Monday September 29, 6.30pm, in McDonald Road Library (for Elm Row and Pilrig Toll).
