A COMMUNITY garden that is soon to be bursting with apple trees will stage its first official planting today.
The Persevere Community Garden in Leith will lay the foundations which organisers hope will eventually see rare apples growing in back greens.

The ceremony will kick off just before noon and it is hoped it will spark interest in the area.

The Evening News reported last week how some of the world's rarest apples would soon be growing from trees in the area under ambitious plans to revitalise community space.
