McIntyre: Dunfermline can Par-alyse Jimmy's Aberdeen

DUNFERMLINE boss Jim McIntyre has no doubts his side can cause the first major upset of this year's Scottish Cup when they welcome Aberdeen to East End Park tomorrow for their quarter-final clash.

So far this season, no SPL club has been knocked out of the Scottish Cup by lower-league opponents but McIntyre pointed out history shows there is nearly always a shock on the road to Hampden.

"There is no doubt that Aberdeen are favourites. They have some cracking players, good management. But St Johnstone and Queen of the South have proved in the last two years in cup competitions that anything can happen," he said.

"We managed to beat St Mirren earlier on in the season as well in the Co-operative Cup so there's all to play for."

Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood will bring Tommy Wright in as a replacement for top scorer Lee Miller and believes he is up to the task.

Miller hurt his hamstring against St Mirren on Tuesday night while former Darlington striker Wright scored a last-gasp equaliser against the Buddies.

"Tommy did really well when he came on against St Mirren and scored a wonderful goal," Calderwood said ahead of the trip to his former club.
