Students carry heavy debt burden

NEARLY a third of students owe more than £10,000, with the average undergraduate £7500 in debt, research showed today.
Eight out of ten students have a student loan, owing an average of £4550 on it, while 73 per cent have an overdraft facility, according to high street bank Halifax.

It's awful, but they're still doing better than U.S. students over here: most I've known owe about twice that by the time they graduate. And government college funding and loan maximums have been drastically cut by Bush and his cronies to pay for Iraq. Only the rich will be able to go to school soon...
