SIR CHRIS HOY has expressed his frustration at missing out after the Great Britain team was named for the Track World Championships in Poland.

The 32-year-old injured his hip during last month's World Cup in Copenhagen and has been ordered by team doctors to stay away from the velodrome until he recovers fully.

"I may even need an operation," said Hoy. "I have been told I may be off the bike for between three and eight weeks, which is longer than I anticipated and frustrating. In a long career, this is the first time I have missed anything major so I can't really complain," he added.
