CHILDREN have been taking part in competitions involving fruit at a restaurant, in the hope it will encourage them to eat more healthily.
The challenge at Ti Amo Restaurant, in Nicholson Street, Edinburgh, was to "design a fruity character" and in-volved fruit carving as well as tasting.
Nell Nelson, a nutritionist who is backing the Fruitfool Fortnight campaign, said: "This is a novel and exciting way to promote fruit-eating among children - and hopefully adults."
