NEXT week gets off to a fairly subdued start in the business world with none of the country's corporate heavyweights expected to post any results or announcements. But there are results expected from some of the country's lower-tier firms.
• Social housing landlord and facilities management group Connaught is expected to post its final results.
The firm, which has a Scottish office in Glasgow, posted record pre-tax profits of £13.97 million in the year to the end of August 2006.
That figure is expected to rise even further this year to £17.55m, on the back of a near £90m rise in revenues to £388m.
• Drug discovery, alternative energy and engineering firm bioFusion is also due to show whether it has moved into profitability after posting a £720,000 loss last year, while discounted toys, gifts and books retailer Premier Direct is also to reveal full-year results.
• There are no major economic announcements expected.
