CHANCELLOR Alistair Darling MP is expected to discuss his pre-Budget report when he gives a keynote speech to the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.
The MP for Edinburgh South West will be the guest speaker at a Chamber of Commerce dinner and is expected to discuss the future landscape of the UK financial services sector and outline the Government's plans to reassert economic stability in the UK and internationally.
Ron Hewitt, chief executive of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, said: "As we know from past experience, the pre-Budget statement always takes time to digest and so members will welcome the opportunity to hear from the Chancellor himself how the detail of the Government's plans have been directed to deal with the global financial crisis."
