EDINBURGH fighter Kenny Anderson says he will not burden himself with expectation when he takes to the ring in Glasgow tomorrow night as he aims to win a potentially lucrative contract with Frank Warren.
The unbeaten super-middleweight faces Hastings Rasani, who took Fife's British title contender Steve McGuire to a points decision last month.
However, Anderson has refused to set himself any targets, aiming simply to win a place on Warren's S
portsnetwork bill in London on December 6.
He said: "Even though the bout with Rasani has been cut to six rounds, when I'd hoped to get my first eight-rounder under my belt, I'm just glad to be back in the ring again at the Kelvin Hall.
"Rasani, having taken McGuire the distance, is obviously a tough guy but I'm not going to burden myself by trying to go one up on McGuire by stopping Rasani inside the distance. I'll just play my strategy off the cuff, although I want to impress the show's promoters Sportsnetwork.
"At least I know from the way he fought that Rasani will come looking for me and that will suit me just fine. Also, I don't think he will be as dirty as my last Latvian opponent was in Paisley in October."
Edinburgh southpaw welterweight, Gary McMillan, fights Manoo Salari over six rounds on the same bill and said: "I had a great no-holds-barred sparring session with Alex Arthur who has shrugged off a recent back injury and wanted some good sparring, and Alex really sharpened me up as did former British champion Barry Morrison, with whom I've also sparred a lot."
