Honour for McCall Smith

RENOWNED author Alexander McCall Smith was today being handed an honorary degree at the University of Edinburgh.
McCall Smith, creator of the popular No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, was being awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws at the university's graduation ceremony.

He graduated from the university in 1971, and taught at its school of law until 2005.
