British soldier killed on patrol

A BRITISH soldier has died after being shot on patrol in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said today.
The soldier, part of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, was shot near Sangin in Helmand Province, yesterday afternoon. No-one else was injured in the attack.

A spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel Nick Richardson, said: "He was here for one cause – to help the Afghan people."

Sad to hear about this.

However, he did sign up to the army with the possibility to go to war and a chance of being killed. He died doing what he wanted to do, good on him.

As for this being another illegal war, get a grip, if Iraq and Afghanistan were allowed to continue without being stopped the planet would be 10 times worse in the futuire than it is now.

The people of these countries deserve a chance to lead a relatively free life and that was not happening. Forget WMD, there are other issues here.

World peace was at serious risk of getting out of hand. No great right now but better for no Saddam and, hopefully soon, no Bin Liner.
