CONSUMERS are cutting down on the number of Christmas presents they buy and the majority are paying for them in cash, a survey claimed today.
Nearly four in 10 people said they were spending less this year, while 21 per cent of people are changing shopping habits due to the economic downturn, according to the Halifax.
